Cut It Out Campaign Continues in 2008
Trainings coming in June and August and fundraiser planned for October as part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month; please check back for times and dates later
Harbor House kicked off its local Cut It Out program in October 2007 as part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month with a community awareness campaign that included trainings for salon professionals and partnering with area salons to raise funds for our programs.
Already, the Fox Valley Cut It Out campaign has accomplished what the national model set out to do in 2003: help salon professionals recognize the warning signs of domestic abuse, respond appropriately and safely refer clients to Harbor House. Because it has been so well-received locally, Cut It Out trainings will continue in 2008 and the second annual Salons Against Domestic Abuse fundraising initiative will take place again in October.
Please pass this information on to a stylist you know. If you are a stylist interested in learning more about the Cut It Out training, please call Kathy Flores at (920) 832-1667. For fundraising information, please contact Maria Turner at (920) 955-9119.
